Marianne Boesky opened her Chelsea gallery’s doors June 13 for the Humane Society of New York’s photography auction. World renowned actor Ali MacGraw, was honored at the event, which featured a live auction commandeered by Gabriela Palmieri. The auction consisted of VIP portraits, animal shots and landscapes selected by notable photographers like Arthur Elgort, William Wegman, Roxanne Lowitt and Stewart Shining. One of the evening’s top gets was a black and white photo of Marilyn Monroe from Milton H. Greene’s “Ballerina” series, which were taken in his Lexington Avenue studio in the fall of 1954.
