The Human Condition at Umbrella Arts
Umbrella Arts was pleased to present The Human Condition, a photography exhibition by seven internationally based artists presenting works that contemplate world concerns of each artist. The bodies of work on view vary - ranging from children at the Kangemi Primary School, Kenya to the Hellenic Coast Guard, Lesvos, Greece - but are tied together by a shared vision of compassion and unity held by the group. The proceeds of sales will be donated to a corresponding foundation dedicated to helping those in need.
The Human Condition traverses a wide swath of diverse human territory. And while we are indeed varied as a people, wherever we find ourselves we recognize ourselves in the faces of others. We all possess the same set of emotions and it is this shared piece of our humanity” that connect us. – Ann Steiner
