Project: Flying Happy in the Sky.
One of my passion for photography is Landscape and Cityscape. The American landscape is extraordinary. I have a goal to explore all U.S. National Park on a road trip. I have completed around half of them now.
My full-time job is also a photographer for a leading consumer electronics company. My position allowed me to have a chance to fly over these National Parks. I was not prepared for it on my first trip across Death Valley on a trip to Las Vegas. After that first trip, I will always get a window seat and have a camera on my lap ready to shoot.
That familiar landscape of Yosemite, Death Valley, and all other cities look so much different than shooting from the ground, but it also has its own beauty of nature and how people are a small part of it. Shooting on a moving plane is not the same as shooting on a tripod on the ground, if I’m not prepared to the best shot in a second then I missed it forever. So while other passengers were relaxing. I’m the only one twisting my body to the windows shooting in silent mode.
While I was shooting on one trip, my hands and eyes was working on composition and focusing on a moving forward flight, but my memory was moving back in time. I remember my dad told me my Chinese name is Huang Tian Le which means happy in the sky. Looks like I was really flying happy in the sky just like my name.
