Emerging Artist: Ted Anderson
I’m a photographer and graphic designer who has recently moved from upstate New York to Harrison, Maine. Although I started taking photographs in the mid 1980s, it wasn’t until relatively recently that I acknowledged recurrent themes in my work. The idea of solitude versus loneliness, and the relationship between a person and their surroundings are things I’ve been exploring through many of my photographs. The pared down features in these images also reflect an interest in the passage of time, and in the remnants of the past in the present. That past may be five minutes ago, or long before we were here.
We must reserve a little back-shop, all our own, entirely free, wherein to establish our true liberty and principal retreat and solitude. –Michel de Montaigne
