Anastasia Photo was pleased to announce David Burnett’s series Man Without Gravity on June 7th, 2016 – his second show with the gallery.

David Burnett is most recognized as a photojournalist, particularly in his work from the Olympics throughout the decades. This series features selections of his dynamic sports photographs since 1984. Burnett’s goal isn’t to capture the dramatic victory shot that runs across tabloids, instead it is to study the sport and its motions in order to capture images that viewers may not be able to see on their own. Unlike many images of the Olympic Games, Burnett’s photographs are strong and high-contrast, highlighting the power of the Olympic athletes.

Burnett has been highly awarded by the World Press Photo Foundation, the International Olympic Committee, and the China News’ Photographers Association, among many others. Spanning his almost 50 year career, Burnett has witnessed history in the making and Man Without Gravity is an incredible way to see these events through his eyes.

This exhibition will be on view from June 7, 2016 - August 14, 2016 at Anastasia Photo at 143 Ludlow Street, New York, NY 10002.
