Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 18)

Aquarius: Both Mercury and Venus are retrograde this month, Aquarius, and while not your rulers these personal planets make up our natural willingness to express ourselves, to socialize, and to initiate intimacies and exchange love. When they are retrograde we are sometimes thrust back into the past, into ourselves. The exchange part of these two planets gets stopped up and circulated within. They also happen to be in a private part of your chart, thus deepening their quietude. You might have use of these planets turned inward artistically this month or in reflection. But moving on, on April 11th there is a full moon at 21 degrees Libra aligned with Jupiter, the planet which expands and lightens and brings justice in your house of Jupiter's original ruling, of expanded, objective consciousness, a house which also rules the courts, higher education, churches, foreign travel--places in which an objective viewpoint which stands at a distance from deep personal knowledge reigns. The personal knowledge would be opposite in Aries in your house of the mind which learns through experience, through immersive culture, and here Uranus is and has been, and this month forms the opposite end of a dynamic T-square with the moon and Jupiter on one side, and Pluto at the apex in your house of the subconscious and isolated spaces. Pluto in this deep dark transitional house indeed points to a radical private inner crisis which must utterly break down any mental and spiritual defenses you have. Pluto here sends you hurtling into an opposite end of thought, of being, if there is an opposite, and perhaps, hopefully, hearkens you deeper towards your kernel of self than would have been possible without such crisis. But lets look at the outer legs of the T-square, more evidently involved with the world--Uranus suggests an unsettled but increasingly aware mind which constantly questions and adjusts, while the Moon and Jupiter suggest an emotional attachment to a certain social system, perhaps an emotional need being filled by any one of the institutions named earlier or in your own faith-based way of thinking. Unfortunately it is the settled, faith-based leg of the T-square which suffers the most here. Uranus and Pluto are just too anti-personal, too universal, and powerful; they break down the personal and bring into universal consciousness, they isolate, but they also deepen the universal meaning, the universal potential, of all personal experiences and things. Uranus is your ruler and you understand that the true nature of humans is to heed and develop the inner voice, the path which no one else can tread, and this is the call that Uranus makes within your body even while pressed against a chorus of others. You might have to turn away from all you know; there are things to face, in the dark. Finally on April 26th, a quiet, unattached new moon hits you deep in your house of being, your house of private self. Like a child being born again but as its own self this time, wrenched from the family's influences, the culture's, but as the true Self, is the potential of this new moon. You might let it transform you, lead you into your own heart.
