The moon was low on the horizon and the sky was the color of toxic gas. It was sunset, and Jonah was going through the events if last week over and over again.
The tide touched the sole of his shoe as he remembered and re-remembered with embarrassment everything he had said. This week was meant to be perfect and his god damn personality had gotten in the way.
“Jonah!” His girlfriend called. “Come on! Catch up!”
Jonah took a deep breath. He shook off the feeling of inadequacy and hyped himself up to do what he swore he would.
